Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

We know reaching out can feel like a big step. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.

Your Questions, Answered

What can I expect from my first session?
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know you and understand what brought you here. We'll talk about your history, your goals, and what you're hoping to work on. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — we move at your pace. By the end, we'll have a clearer picture of how we can best support you.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. We accept Oregon Health Plan, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Moda Health, Regence, and Providence, among others. We recommend verifying your specific coverage before your first appointment. If you have questions about whether your plan is accepted, give us a call — we're happy to help you figure it out.
What are your session fees?
Individual therapy sessions are $135. Couples sessions are $150. A free 15-minute consultation is available for new clients. If cost is a concern, please reach out — no one will be denied services due to inability to pay, and a discounted sliding fee schedule is available based on family size and income.
What is neurofeedback and how does it work?
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive brain training approach that helps your brain learn to self-regulate. Sensors are placed on your scalp to measure brainwave activity, and you receive real-time feedback through visual or auditory cues. Over time, your brain learns to shift toward healthier, more balanced patterns. It can be especially effective for ADHD, anxiety, sleep challenges, trauma recovery, and peak performance.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It's a research-supported therapy that helps the brain reprocess traumatic or distressing memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. During sessions, you recall difficult memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation — like guided eye movements — which helps reduce the emotional intensity of those memories. Many clients experience significant relief in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. We offer secure video sessions for Oregon residents. Telehealth is a great option if you prefer to meet from home, have limited transportation, or live outside the Grants Pass area. The quality of care is the same as in-person sessions.
Do you work with children?
Yes. We work with children ages 6 and up, as well as teens, young adults, and families. Our clinicians have specialized experience in child development, behavioral challenges, school-related stress, and family dynamics. We also offer parent support as part of the treatment process when appropriate.
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
We're happy to help you figure that out. Both of our clinicians bring different specialties and styles — Amber focuses on trauma, PTSD, neurofeedback, and life transitions, while Constance specializes in children, teens, substance use, and family counseling. If you're not sure, start with a free 15-minute consultation and we'll help you find the right fit.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer that time to another client. Please reach out by phone or email as soon as possible if something comes up.
How do I get started?
The easiest way to get started is to call us at (541) 761-3903 or email us at mindsinmotion.as@gmail.com. We offer a free 15-minute consultation for new clients so you can ask questions and get a feel for whether we're the right fit before committing to a full session. We look forward to hearing from you.
